In 2016, Director of Photography Casey Regan shot his first feature film, STEP, a documentary about the senior year of a girls' high-school step team set against the background of inner-city Baltimore. It won the Special Jury Award for Inspirational Filmmaking at the 2017 Sundance Film Festival before being picked up by Fox Searchlight Pictures for theatrical distribution. In its review of the film, Variety praised Casey's "deft camerawork."
After being officially selected at the 2018 Seattle International Film Festival, Casey’s second feature length documentary, Ballet Now, about an ambitious New York City ballet dancer as she becomes the first woman to curate and direct the L.A.-based show “Ballet Now,” was streamed on Hulu.
He began his professional career as an Assistant Editor at the Manhattan-based Stick Figure Productions. When given the opportunity to hone his skills as a camera operator, Casey made his way into the field. His time at Stick Figure saw him shooting television pilots, episodic documentary series, and short films. An episode of MSG Networks' The Mask on which he worked earned the 2015 New York Emmy Award for Outstanding Sports Program: Interview/Discussion.
As a Writer and Director, Casey has produced award-winning short films that have been featured in festivals across the world. His horror genre comedy "Meat Me In Plainville" was nominated for the Grand Prize for Short Films at the 2012 Puchon International Fantastic Film Festival.
Within the New York comedy scene, Casey performs stand up in bars and clubs all around the city. His online sketch work has garnered over 1 million views.
